My first encounter with midwifery was at age 17, when I witnessed the birth of my niece. She was born at home into the hands of midwives. I was so blown away by what a gentle and empowering experience it was, I knew I had found my calling! I graduated from the McMaster Midwifery Education Program in 2009. Since graduating, I have worked as a midwife in Hamilton and Mississauga. I love my job and I look forward to meeting and working with you and your family! Welcome to our clinic!

I am a Registered Midwife at East Mississauga Midwives. Prior to graduating from the Midwifery Education Program at Ryerson University in 2013, I studied International Development at Guelph and Trent University. I have travelled and volunteered throughout Europe, Thailand, Jamaica, and Central and South America. It is a privilege to be able to support women during this time, and I am grateful for the opportunity to get to know you and your family.

I have happily called the Greater Toronto Area home for the past 17 years. Prior to pursuing midwifery, I worked as a Registered Massage Therapist. My background in massage married well with my interest in pregnancy and birth and I began attending the births of my massage therapy clients. In 2008 I graduated from the Midwifery Education Program at McMaster University. I am passionate about midwifery and I truly love my work. I look forward to providing care for you and your family during this important time in your lives.

I was born and raised in a small town outside of Ottawa and am the proud daughter of a midwife. From a young age I have been surrounded by positive ideas about pregnancy and childbirth and as a result, have developed a strong desire to promote birth as a natural and enriching event for women and their families. My journey towards Midwifery began in 2002 at Queen’s University where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education. I went on to graduate from the Midwifery Education Program at McMaster University in 2010. I worked at a midwifery clinic in downtown Toronto prior to joining East Mississauga Midwives in 2011. I feel very fortunate to be working with a group of amazing midwives in such a vibrant and diverse community. In addition to midwifery, I enjoy cooking, reading and exploring the many unique parks, restaurants and neighbourhoods that the city has to offer. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

Hello! Assalam wa Alaykum!
My name is Daina Nestick and I am a registered midwife here at the clinic. I have been working with birthing moms for many years now and have been registered to practice in Ontario since 2008. I feel very privileged to safely guide families through a challenging part of their lives and I continue to learn everyday from the diversity of women and families that we care for. I was born and raised in Hamilton and received all my formal medical education at McMaster university. I now make Mississauga my home with my wonderful supportive husband and our daughters Aya and Miriam.

I graduated from Ryerson University’s Midwifery Education Program in 2014. In addition to my degree in midwifery, I also have an undergraduate degree from McMaster University in nursing. I worked as a registered nurse for 4 years in both general surgery and labour & delivery before starting my midwifery training. I am originally from Niagara and have always had a keen interest in women’s reproductive health with an aspiration to one day become a midwife. I spent my final year as a midwifery student with East Mississauga Midwives and could not be happier to be joining their team. My personal interests outside of midwifery include: cooking, fitness/nutrition, crocheting, music, traveling and reading. I look forward to meeting many new families in my career and being a part of their pregnancies and births.

My name is Lea and I am very excited to be joining the wonderful team of midwives at East Mississauga where I was lucky enough to be a student in my final year. My three children were born under midwifery care and I am passionate about giving all of our families the pregnancy and birth of their choosing. Before entering midwifery, I worked as a theatre technician and helped to run a few community kitchens. I am excited to meet you and your family and work with you through your pregnancy and beyond.

I've been a member of the East Mississauga Midwives team since graduating from Ryerson University's Midwifery Education Program. I have a master’s in public health and worked on cancer research and primary care and maternity care projects in Canada, the US and East Africa, and for many years I helped develop clinical practice guidelines and other resources for midwives and midwifery clients. In my spare time I enjoy running, reading, cooking, and spending time with my partner and our very spoiled dog. I look forward to meeting you and your baby!

I was introduced to midwifery as a child with the homebirths of my brothers. I came to midwifery as a life path through passion for holistic health, activism, and community care. As an American, I pursued my midwifery education in the United States, and later completed the International Midwifery Pre-Registration Program (IMPP) at Ryerson University in 2017 to work in Ontario. I am passionate about informed choice, homebirth, health equity, and community support for pregnant people and their families. I have lived and worked as a midwife in the United States, Mali, Guinea, and Canada. I have made the GTA my home with my loving family for the past 8 years. In my free time, I like to hike with my family and dog, and work on way too many projects on my computer.
