Finding a Family Doctor

Having a family doctor will improve your access to care. Your midwife may refer you to see your family doctor if you need to have certain blood tests or medications that are not in the midwifery scope to order, or if you become ill with a non-pregnancy related illness. After you and baby are discharged from midwifery care at six weeks postpartum, it is important to have someone to take the baby to for ongoing checkups.
